Nadur Parish Church
About This Museum
What really grabs you first isn't just the size of this church, but its incredible hilltop position—it feels like a fortress of faith watching over all of Gozo. Stepping inside, the sheer scale is breathtaking, with a magnificent dome that seems to pull your gaze straight up to the heavens. The interior is a treasure chest of religious art, from intricate marble work to vivid paintings that tell ancient stories. It’s surprisingly peaceful, a place where you can sit for a while and just absorb the quiet grandeur. You leave feeling like you’ve discovered the island's spiritual heart.
Collection Highlights
Look for the stunning titular painting of St. Peter and St. Paul above the main altar and don't miss the beautifully detailed, colorful statues carried during village festas.
Visitor Information
It's generally open to visitors during the day, but do check the local schedule as it can close for services—the best time to see it in all its glory is during the evening festa in late June when it's spectacularly lit up.
