About This Museum

So, I was in Mosta today and stumbled upon this incredible museum right next to that famous church with the massive dome. The story goes that during WWII, a bomb pierced the dome during a service but miraculously didn't explode, saving hundreds of lives. The museum itself feels like stepping into a local family's carefully preserved attic, packed with stories. It’s a really intimate and humbling place that makes history feel incredibly personal.

Collection Highlights

The absolute must-see is a full-scale replica of that infamous 200kg German bomb – seeing it hanging there is chilling. You'll also find beautiful religious vestments, historic documents about the parish, and some of the original church plans.

Visitor Information

It's super easy to find, just look for the giant rotunda. The staff are wonderfully friendly locals who seem to genuinely love sharing the town's history.

Architecture & Building

It's housed in a classic Maltese limestone building, all warm golden stone, that feels seamlessly connected to the grand Neoclassical church it serves.
