About This Museum

People don't just come here for the school trips, you know. They come back because it's the kind of place where a kid can stare at a real Spitfire engine one minute and get happily lost in the 'Light and Sound' gallery the next. It’s got that post-war, no-nonsense look about it, but inside it's absolutely buzzing. You leave feeling like you've had a proper good rummage through Wolverhampton's industrial brain.

Collection Highlights

The star of the show is the Boulton Paul Defiant turret fighter, suspended right there in the main hall. Then you've got all these hands-on contraptions that let you play with pulleys and levers, and a section dedicated to the city's own inventions and industries.

Visitor Information

It's tucked away on Bushbury Lane, easy enough to find with a satnav. Parking's straightforward, and it's the perfect spot for a rainy afternoon when the kids need to burn off some energy.

Architecture & Building

It’s a solid, functional building from the latter half of the 20th century, all brick and glass, built for purpose rather than fancy looks.
