It began its life in the 1950s on the Isle of Man, a bold and somewhat controversial endeavour by Cecil Williamson, before finding its permanent home here in Cornwall. Collection Highlights
The displays are profoundly tactile: you'll find a full-scale, traditional cunning woman's cottage, complete with dried herbs and charms. Look for the haunting 'poppet' dolls, some crafted for healing and others for more maligned purposes. One of the most compelling items is the protective witch's ladder, a long cord intricately knotted with feathers, each twist holding a specific intention.
