The MAD Museum
About This Museum
Everyone comes to Stratford for Shakespeare, but I stumbled upon this place and it completely stole the show. Forget 'do not touch'—here, you're encouraged to pull levers, crank handles, and press every button in sight. The whole space is alive with whirring, clanking, and delightful surprises around every corner. It’s a playground of pure ingenuity that had me grinning like a kid.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the 'Auto Automata' with its charming miniature scenes, or the massive 'Nexus' wall where you can create a cascading symphony of sound and light just by turning a series of cranks.
Visitor Information
It's tucked away at 4-5 Henley Street, right in the heart of town, so you can't miss it. Budget at least an hour, but honestly, you'll lose track of time.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a classic, unassuming Stratford-upon-Avon Tudor-style building, which makes the wacky and wonderful mechanical chaos inside even more of a delightful shock.
