Robert Burns House
About This Museum
Tucked away on what was once known as the Mill Vennel, this unassuming sandstone house is where Scotland's beloved bard spent his final years. From 1796, you can almost hear the scratch of his quill in the very room where he penned some of his most enduring work, like the haunting 'Ae Fond Kiss'. It’s a humble place, not grand or showy, which makes walking through it feel all the more personal and poignant. You're standing in the heart of Rabbie's world.
Collection Highlights
See the very bed where he passed away, his writing desk, and a cast of his skull. Personal letters and early editions of his poems are scattered throughout, telling the story of the man behind the legend.
