Tucked away in the Suffolk countryside, this is no ordinary museum—it's the original, brick-and-concrete control tower from a WWII USAAF airbase. Stepping inside feels like walking onto a film set, with the ghosts of Allied airmen and the French Resistance almost palpable in the air. It’s a deeply personal and moving tribute, preserved with incredible passion by volunteers.
Collection Highlights
You'll find everything from a fully restored 'Horsa' glider nose section to heartbreaking personal letters and escape maps. One of the most compelling sections is dedicated to the secretive Special Operations Executive (SOE) and their vital work with the French Resistance.

It's run by incredibly knowledgeable volunteers, so check their website for opening times as they can be seasonal. Wear sensible shoes—the stairs up to the control room are the original, steep ones!
