About This Museum
Tucked away at the end of an old stone bridge, this charming little house has been a fixture in Dumfries since the 1660s. Stepping inside feels like walking through a time capsule, where each room tells a different story from its long past. You can poke your head into the old-style kitchen with its massive fireplace and imagine the meals cooked there centuries ago. It's surprisingly intimate and doesn't feel like a stuffy museum at all.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the early dentist's surgery—it's enough to make you grateful for modern medicine! Upstairs, the Victorian nursery is wonderfully preserved, complete with toys and a tiny rocking horse that really brings the past to life.

It's right on Mill Road by the river, easy to spot, and best of all, it's free to pop in. Just check their opening times as they can be seasonal.
