About This Museum

People come to the KIGAM Geological Museum not just to see old rocks, but to grasp the epic, billion-year story of the Korean Peninsula written in stone. You can't help but be humbled standing before the towering skeleton of a Plesiosaur or getting lost in the dazzling, jewel-like glow of the mineral hall. It’s a place that masterfully connects deep planetary history with modern scientific research happening right next door. You leave feeling like you've traveled through time, with a newfound appreciation for the ground beneath your feet.

Collection Highlights

The complete Plesiosaur skeleton is a showstopper, but I was equally mesmerized by the stunning amethyst geode as big as a small car and the extensive collection of native Korean minerals.
