As you journey through on a jeep or guided hike, you're walking under the dense canopy of one of the planet's rarest trees, surrounded by the sweet scent of flowering plants. The air is punctuated by the soft coo of the impossibly delicate pink pigeon, a bird once nearly extinct. It’s a place where you can witness conservation in real-time, sharing the path with ancient giant tortoises that slowly amble through the undergrowth.

The stars here are undoubtedly the endemic pink pigeons and Aldabra giant tortoises, but keep your eyes peeled for the vibrant green echo parakeet and the stunningly beautiful ebony trees themselves, some centuries old.
