Inside, you walk through halls that feel more like sacred spaces, tracing the brutal journey from 1941 to 1945. The sheer weight of history here is palpable, from the grandest diorama to the simplest letter from the front.
Collection Highlights
You can't miss the six immense dioramas depicting key battles like Stalingrad—the detail is staggering. Then there's the Hall of Remembrance and Sorrow, with its millions of glass teardrops hanging from the ceiling. Personal effects, a rusted canteen or a carefully mended uniform, often stop you in your tracks more than any weapon ever could.
Visitor Information
Give yourself a good half-day for this one; it's enormous and demands your time. It's easy to get to on the metro—just get off at Park Pobedy station. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of standing and walking, often in quiet reflection.

The main building is a grand, almost severe neoclassical structure of white stone, crowned with a dark blue dome that soars over the park. Its sheer scale and solemn symmetry command respect long before you even step inside.
