About This Museum
Originally established in the 1950s as an animal orphanage, the Centre has evolved into a leading conservation hub. It's not your typical zoo; the focus here is squarely on rescuing, rehabilitating, and educating. You'll find everything from majestic lions and impossibly tall giraffes to chimpanzees and a walk-through aviary, all set on lush, green grounds along the shores of Lake Victoria. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and family-friendly, making it a perfect escape from the city bustle.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the chance to look a giraffe in the eye during the feeding session—it's a truly memorable experience. The lion enclosure is another highlight, where you can observe Uganda's most famous predators up close.
