The Ocean View Club
About This Museum
People don't just come to the Ocean View Club for a glimpse of history; they come to feel it. You can almost hear the clink of glasses and the murmur of old island gossip in these rooms, where the salt-bleached walls have stories soaked right into them. It's less a formal museum and more like stepping directly into the vibrant, sun-drenched social heart of old Harbour Island. You leave not just having seen artifacts, but with the sense that you've been a guest at a legendary gathering that never really ended.
Collection Highlights
Look for the faded dance cards from legendary parties, a collection of sepia-toned photographs showing dapper gentlemen and ladies in fine linen, and the original mahogany bar that's seen its share of tall tales and dark rum.
Visitor Information
It's right there on Bay Street, easy to find. Just wander in; the folks inside are happy to share a story or two.
Architecture & Building
It's a classic Bahamian colonial building, all in soft pastel with white trim, a wide veranda, and shutters designed to catch the sea breeze.
