Terme 3000 - Moravske Toplice
About This Museum
You'd hardly expect a world-class collection of Roman stonework and pre-historic artifacts to be housed in a modern wellness complex, but that's the delightful paradox of Terme 3000. The building itself is a sprawling, low-slung structure of glass and pale concrete that seems to rise from the steam of the thermal springs. Inside, the atmosphere shifts from aquatic leisure to quiet reverence, where millennia-old objects are displayed with a minimalist sensibility. It’s a place where you can literally go from a dip in the pool to staring into the face of a Roman deity.
Collection Highlights
The star is undoubtedly the life-sized Roman statue of Jupiter, his marble form still commanding despite the centuries. Alongside him, you'll find intricate Celtic jewelry and a stunning array of perfectly preserved Roman-era milestones and tombstones excavated from local sites.
Visitor Information
It's all located right inside the main hotel complex in Moravske Toplice, so you can easily pop in after a spa treatment. Just check with the front desk for current opening times as they can vary.
Architecture & Building
A distinctly late-20th century utilitarian design, softened by vast windows that flood the spaces with light and offer views of the resort's green landscapes.
