Ski Museum
About This Museum
Tucked away in the alpine village of Tatranská Lomnica, right at the foot of the High Tatras, you'll find this absolute gem dedicated to snow. It’s way more than just a room full of old skis; it feels like stepping into a century-old family album for the entire region. You can almost hear the swish of wooden skis and see the early pioneers tackling these epic slopes. The passion for winter here is absolutely palpable in every single exhibit.
Collection Highlights
The evolution from those impossibly long, wooden skis to the first sleek metal ones is fascinating. Don't miss the vintage bindings that look more like leather straps than safety equipment, and all the old photos showing how ski fashion has (thankfully) changed over the decades.
Visitor Information
It's super easy to find on the main road in Tatranská Lomnica. Honestly, it's a perfect bad-weather-day activity or a great way to spend an hour before heading back out onto the actual slopes.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a charming, traditional building that fits right in with the other mountain chalets in the village, it feels authentic from the moment you walk up.
