Science Center Scientific Imaginary Pordenone
About This Museum
What really sets the Immaginario Scientifico apart is its name—it's a 'Scientific Imaginary,' and it lives up to that wonderfully playful promise. This isn't a place of dusty artifacts behind glass; it's a vibrant, hands-on playground for the mind where you're encouraged to touch, play, and experiment. The vibe is modern and interactive, making complex scientific concepts feel accessible and downright fun for all ages. You'll leave not just having learned something, but having truly experienced it.
Collection Highlights
You can get lost in the mesmerizing rotating polarizing filters of the 'Kaleidoscopes' or try to piece together a giant puzzle of the Pangea supercontinent. One of my favorite spots is the 'Tunnel of Light,' a disorienting corridor that plays tricks on your perception. They also have fascinating thematic islands dedicated to specific topics like light, perception, and water.
Visitor Information
It's perfect for a curious family—kids absolutely love it because they can run from one station to the next without ever hearing 'don't touch.' It's located on Via Vittorio Veneto 31 in Pordenone, and from what I've seen, it's the kind of place you can spend a whole afternoon without noticing the time fly by.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a modern, unassuming building that feels more like a creative workshop or lab than a traditional museum, which perfectly suits its hands-on mission.
