I stumbled upon this place almost by accident, tucked away near the planetarium, and what a fantastic find it was. You walk in expecting dusty dioramas, but instead, you're greeted by the lively sounds of a vivarium and the sight of kids gleefully piecing together a giant woolly mammoth skeleton replica. The air is thick with curiosity, not dust, making it feel less like a static archive and more like a living, breathing celebration of our natural world. It’s the kind of spot that manages to be deeply informative while also being genuinely fun for absolutely everyone.
Collection Highlights
The star for me was the tactile botanical garden designed for the visually impaired, where you're encouraged to touch and smell the plants. Inside, don't miss the impressive vivarium with its slithering resident snakes and the massive dinosaur skeleton that towers over the main hall.
Visitor Information
It's perfect for a family outing—the hands-on science exhibits will keep the little ones busy for hours. Just a heads up, it's closed on Mondays and public holidays, so plan accordingly!
