Panorama October
About This Museum
You'd never guess, but tucked away near the stadium in Nasr City is a massive, drum-like building that holds a secret from 1973. Inside, it's not paintings or statues you'll find, but an entire battlefield frozen in time. The centerpiece is a breathtaking circular diorama that makes you feel like you've stepped right into the October War. It’s a raw, visceral experience of sound and sight that completely surrounds you.
Collection Highlights
The main event is the sprawling 3D diorama depicting the Egyptian crossing of the Suez Canal, complete with model soldiers, bridges, and bunkers. Outside, real military hardware—a captured Israeli tank and Egyptian artillery pieces—stand as silent sentinels on the lawn.
Visitor Information
It's located in Al Estad, Nasr City, so it's a bit of a trek but well worth it for history buffs. Go with an Egyptian friend if you can; the narratives are powerful but mostly in Arabic.
Architecture & Building
A stark, cylindrical concrete structure that feels both modern and fortress-like, designed specifically to house its unique circular panorama.
