About This Museum

Everyone comes to Gdańsk for its maritime history, but most people don't expect a museum as brilliantly modern and interactive as this one. Forget dusty displays; this place is a playground for the curious. You'll find yourself navigating a ship through a storm on a hyper-realistic simulator one minute, and trying your hand at docking a massive container ship in the port of Gdańsk the next. It completely redefines what a maritime museum can be.

Collection Highlights

The absolute star is the massive indoor pool where you can pilot remote-controlled scale models of ships, from tugboats to sailboats—it's way harder than it looks! The bridge simulators are another huge draw, letting you feel the adrenaline of commanding a vessel in rough seas. Don't miss the 'Human & Sea' exhibition either, which uses clever digital interactives to explore our relationship with the ocean.

Visitor Information

It's located right on the Motława River in a super modern building that's hard to miss. Definitely book your tickets online if you're visiting on a weekend, as the simulators have limited spots and fill up fast. This is one spot where kids will have way more fun than they ever anticipated at a museum.

Architecture & Building

The building itself is a striking piece of contemporary architecture, all sharp angles and vast expanses of glass that reflect the water and sky. It stands in brilliant contrast to the historic crane right next door, creating this fantastic dialogue between old and new.
