About This Museum

You know how most museums stick to either culture or nature? This place brilliantly mashes them both together under one roof. It feels like a time capsule dedicated to both the land and the people of Moldova, telling a complete story of the country. I spent ages just wandering from rooms filled with traditional embroidered costumes to halls dominated by the skeleton of a massive auroch. It’s this weird and wonderful mix that makes it so memorable.

Collection Highlights

The natural history side is wild, with this incredible diorama of Moldovan wildlife and that giant auroch skeleton taking center stage. Then you turn a corner and you're surrounded by life-sized reconstructions of traditional village homes, complete with authentic pottery and those vibrant, intricately patterned national costumes.

Visitor Information

Don't miss the garden out back—it's a perfect, quiet spot to process everything you've just seen. The whole place has this wonderfully classic, slightly old-school museum charm that I absolutely loved.

Architecture & Building

Housed in a beautiful, stately yellow building that feels every bit as historic as the treasures inside, it fits right into the grand architecture of central Chișinău.
