You won't find many museums like this one, where a Soviet MiG-21 fighter jet is just parked out front like it's waiting for takeoff. It’s a place that really dives into the heavy artillery and armored vehicles that defined the region's past. Inside, the narrative gets even more intense with exhibits detailing Moldova's experience under Soviet rule. It’s a surprisingly quiet and contemplative spot, making you reflect on a history that feels both distant and very immediate.
Collection Highlights
The outdoor yard is packed with hulking T-34 tanks and massive field cannons you can walk right up to. Indoors, the collection gets more specific with rows of historic rifles, uniforms, and poignant displays on the Soviet-Afghan War.
Visitor Information
It's easy to find on Strada Tighina, and you can easily spend a couple of hours here. Just double-check the opening times before you go, as they can be a bit variable.
