Múzeum Radenov dom
About This Museum
You have to see this place to believe it – the entire museum is inside a historic, dark timber house completely covered in these wild, brilliant white folk-art patterns. It feels less like a museum and more like stepping right into a living storybook. The whole village of Čičmany is famous for this unique decorative style, and Radenov Dom is its beautiful, beating heart. Honestly, just walking up to the building is an experience in itself.
Collection Highlights
Inside, you'll find rooms meticulously set up just as they would have been centuries ago, complete with traditional furniture and incredible handcrafted folk costumes. The real stars are the thousands of these geometric patterns; they're everywhere, from the walls to the everyday objects, each one seemingly telling its own little story.
Visitor Information
It's a pretty compact museum, so you can easily soak it all up in under an hour. Definitely take a moment to just stand outside and admire the facade—it’s arguably the most impressive exhibit of all.
Architecture & Building
It's a classic example of Čičmany's iconic log architecture, featuring ornately carved gables and that unmistakable white lime-paint decoration covering the dark wood exterior.
