About This Museum

You have to see this place—it feels like stepping into a modern-day fortress of light and geometry, all thanks to I.M. Pei's genius. Inside, it’s a quiet journey through 1400 years of creativity, from intricate scientific instruments used by ancient scholars to breathtaking carpets and manuscripts. The atmosphere is so serene and contemplative; the way the light filters through the central atrium is just magical. It completely reshapes what you might imagine when you think of Islamic art.

Collection Highlights

Don't miss the stunning collection of astrolabes, some inlaid with silver, and the ornate metalwork from different dynasties. The textiles are incredible too, especially a massive Ottoman-era carpet that looks like it was woven yesterday.
