Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile
About This Museum
I had no idea this place had such a deep history, starting all the way back in 1932. It’s not just a random building either; it was completely reimagined in 2011, so the whole experience feels incredibly modern and intentional. You walk through this amazing timeline of cars, from the very first sputtering horseless carriages to sleek, futuristic prototypes that look like they drove straight out of a sci-fi movie. The lighting is dramatic, almost theatrical, making every single car feel like a priceless work of art. It’s an absolute pilgrimage for anyone even remotely fascinated by design and engineering.
Collection Highlights
You have to see the iconic 1955 Alfa Romeo BAT 7, a wild aerodynamic concept that looks like a spaceship on wheels. Then there's the gorgeous 1957 Fiat 500, so tiny and perfect, sitting right near Carlo Biscaretti's 1896 Bernardi, which is arguably the very first Italian car ever made.
Visitor Information
It's easy to find over on Corso Unità d'Italia in Turin. Definitely give yourself a good two or three hours here—there are three massive floors to get through and you'll want to soak it all in.
Architecture & Building
The building itself is a total piece of modern art; all sharp angles, clean lines, and flooded with natural light that makes the colorful cars just pop against the white interiors.
