About This Museum
Just a short drive from Falmouth, the Martha Brae River has been the lifeblood of this part of Trelawny for generations. It's not your typical museum with walls and artifacts; the whole river itself feels like a living exhibit. Here, you'll board a thirty-foot bamboo raft, hand-poled by a local guide who knows every twist and turn of the water. As you glide past whispering bamboo groves and towering mango trees, your guide will often share stories of the river's history and the legendary 'Martha Brae' herself.
Collection Highlights
The main attraction is the journey itself—a serene float on a handmade raft that has changed little over the years. Guides bring the landscape to life, pointing out local flora and perhaps telling you the tale of the Arawak witch who supposedly hid her treasure in a cave here.

You'll find it all at the rafters' village: there's a launch area, a bar for a cold Red Stripe or Ting after your trip, and picnic spots if you fancy bringing your own lunch. It's wise to book ahead, especially when cruise ships are in port at Falmouth.
