About This Museum

You'd never guess that tucked down a dusty side street in Essaouira is a temple to American automotive history, but that's Lou's Rides for you. Stepping inside feels like walking into a time capsule where the 1950s never ended. The air smells faintly of old leather and engine grease, a surprisingly pleasant scent that adds to the atmosphere. It’s less a museum and more like you’ve been invited into the world’s coolest, most obsessive private garage.

Collection Highlights

The star is undoubtedly a pristine, fire-engine red 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, its fins looking like they could slice through air. You'll also find a row of gleaming vintage petrol pumps and walls covered in classic enamel signs that tell their own stories of a bygone era.

Visitor Information

It's easy to miss the entrance on Rue El Ayachi, so keep your eyes peeled. Pop in for an hour; it's the perfect escape from the midday sun and an absolute must for any gearhead.

Architecture & Building

From the outside, it's just another unassuming Moroccan riad with plain white walls and a simple blue door. Inside, the traditional tiled courtyard and high ceilings create this incredible contrast with all the chrome and steel.
