You can almost hear the rhythmic clang of the blacksmith's hammer and smell the old wood in the wheelwright's workshop. The passion of the Horvat family is utterly contagious, making you appreciate the incredible skill that built everyday life.
Collection Highlights
The heart of the place is the functional forge where they do live demonstrations. You'll also find beautifully preserved horse-drawn carriages and all the traditional tools of both the blacksmith and wheelwright trades laid out just as they were used.
Visitor Information
It's in a small village called Razkrižje, so having your own transport is key. Definitely check ahead for their demo times, as seeing the blacksmith at work is the whole point!
