About This Museum
You won't find a more personal or quirky stop than Kovačeva domačija. It felt less like a formal museum and more like stepping directly into the past, right into the home and workshop of the Kovač family themselves. The heart of the place is, of course, the blacksmith's forge, which looks like it's just waiting for the smith to return and fire it up again. Everything was left just as it was, giving you this incredibly intimate glimpse into a way of life that has all but vanished.
Collection Highlights
Beyond the main forge with its heavy anvils and tools, you'll find all sorts of everyday treasures from rural Slovenia—think wooden furniture, traditional clothing, and farming implements. It’s a full snapshot of a family’s life and livelihood.
Visitor Information
Heads up for anyone planning a trip—it seems this gem is now permanently closed. A real shame, as it was such a unique and authentic spot.
