Innia-Lara Turtle Museum and Educational Center
About This Museum
People don't just come here to see turtles; they come to understand them. You walk in and are immediately surrounded by the life cycle of these ancient mariners, from tiny, fragile hatchlings to the magnificent, fully-articulated skeleton of a Leatherback that seems to glide right through the air. The heart of the place is its educational mission, making it feel less like a static display and more like a lively conversation about conservation. It’s impossible to leave without a newfound sense of wonder for these creatures and the urgent need to protect them.
Collection Highlights
The stunning centerpiece is the massive skeleton of a Leatherback turtle suspended as if swimming overhead. Other key exhibits include delicate clutches of eggs and detailed dioramas showing nesting habitats along the Cypriot coast.
