Geological Survey Museum
About This Museum
Tucked away on Aviation Road, this place feels like Namibia's memory bank for the Earth itself. You can trace the entire, epic story of the country's formation, from its molten beginnings to the glittering mineral treasures that put it on the map. I was completely captivated by the way they've laid it all out; it’s a proper journey through deep time. It’s far more than just rocks behind glass—it’s the foundation of the entire nation, and you can really feel that weight of history.
Collection Highlights
The absolute showstopper is the main hall with a towering skeleton of a Cape Buffalo, but don't miss the breathtaking Tsumeb mineral collection—crystals in colors you won't believe are natural. The Gibeon meteorite shards you can actually touch are a surreal highlight.

It's surprisingly easy to find, right there on Aviation Road in Windhoek. Honestly, just go—it's one of those perfect, compact museums where you don't need to block out your whole day to see something incredible.
