I've just spent a morning utterly captivated by the Gallery-Museum tucked away inside its historic walls. It's a place where art and history collide in the most fascinating way, from vibrant contemporary canvases to ancient Roman stones pulled from the local soil. Wandering through these halls, you get a real sense of the unique cultural tapestry of the Prekmurje region.
Collection Highlights
The collection brilliantly showcases Hungarian minority art alongside archaeological finds from the area. I was particularly drawn to the powerful paintings by Lendava-born artist József Egry, whose work captures the light and landscape of this special place. Down another corridor, you can find Roman altars and medieval stonework that tell a much older story of the land.

You'll find it all up at Lendavski grad (Lendava Castle) at Bánffyjev trg 1 – just follow the signs uphill! The climb is absolutely worth it for the museum and the panoramic castle views alone. Be sure to check their website for current opening times before you go.
