Galleria d'Arte Moderna Achille Forti
About This Museum
Tucked away in Verona's historic center, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna Achille Forti presents a surprising counterpoint to the city's ancient Roman ruins. It all started with the passion of Achille Forti, a botanist and art lover who bequeathed his entire collection to the city. Today, its rooms pulse with the energy of Italian art from the 19th century onwards. You'll find everything from sweeping Romantic canvases to bold, fragmented works by the avant-garde, creating a dialogue between centuries under one roof.
Collection Highlights
Look for the intense, almost sculptural portraits by Medardo Rosso and the dynamic, colorful canvases of Umberto Boccioni that prefigure the Futurist movement. The collection also beautifully captures the light and atmosphere of the Veneto region in numerous landscapes.
