Centro artesanal ,etnoturistico y ambiental WALLIPERRE
About This Museum
Tucked away in the heart of the Guainía, within the Indigenous Guamal community, WALLIPERRE isn't your typical museum. It's a living space where the forest, the river, and ancestral traditions are all part of the collection. You feel the pulse of the region the moment you step onto its grounds. It’s a place that tells our story from the inside out.
Collection Highlights
You'll find beautiful hand-woven yanchamas and intricate ceramic pieces that local artisans still create using ancient techniques. The real highlight, though, is learning about the uses of native plants and hearing stories connected to the river and land that have sustained our people for generations.
Visitor Information
Come ready to listen and get your hands dirty—this is a place for conversation and maybe even trying your hand at a craft. It's best to ask in the community about visiting hours, as it runs on a more organic schedule.
Architecture & Building
The center blends seamlessly with its surroundings, built with traditional materials like wood and thatch in the maloca style, making it feel more like a part of the village than a separate building.
