Casa Urquiaga
About This Museum
Tucked away on a bustling street in Trujillo, Casa Urquiaga is a stunning relic of the colonial era that feels like stepping back in time. You enter through a heavy wooden doorway into a sun-drenched central courtyard, where the sound of a fountain and the scent of gardenias immediately transport you. The house itself has witnessed centuries of local history, from its origins after the city's founding to its later use by a prominent banking family. It’s one of those places where you can almost feel the whispers of the past in its beautifully preserved rooms.

Don't miss the incredible late 18th-century carved cedar desk, a true masterpiece of colonial craftsmanship. You'll also find fascinating pre-Columbian ceramics and personal artifacts that tell the story of Trujillo's development.
