About This Museum

Tucked away on Dragon Street, just off the bustling New Legon Road, the Binah museum is a real gem for anyone curious about how technology has woven itself into the fabric of Ghanaian life. It feels less like a sterile gallery and more like walking through a collective memory, starting with the crackle of old radio broadcasts and moving right up to the sleek mobile phones in our pockets today. You'll find yourself lingering over exhibits that tell a very local story of innovation and adaptation. It’s a quiet, thoughtful space that makes you appreciate the journey.

Collection Highlights

One corner is dedicated to the evolution of communication, featuring a beautifully preserved red Ghana Post mailbox standing guard next to an early desktop computer. Another fascinating display shows how cassette tapes and early video technology fueled the rise of the local music and film scene.

Visitor Information

It's easy to find on Dragon Street, and while it's not huge, you'll want to take your time. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and love to share stories if you ask.

Architecture & Building

Housed in a converted, two-story colonial-era building with high ceilings and large windows that flood the rooms with Accra's brilliant light, its whitewashed walls provide a clean backdrop for the tech on display.
