From its bustling western side, you're greeted by a breathtaking facade of brilliant blue Fassi ceramics, while the inner face facing the medina shimmers with an equally vibrant green. Collection Highlights
Its main 'exhibits' are the immersive street life and historic vistas it frames: look through its arches to see the minarets of the Bou Inania and Sidi Lazzaz mosques, and watch as a constant flow of people, donkeys, and carts create a living tableau of medieval Moroccan life.
Visitor Information
Come in the late afternoon when the setting sun makes the blue tiles glow; it's free to pass through and explore, but your best bet is to find a café terrace opposite for that iconic photo before diving headfirst into the medina's chaos.
