Tun Jugah Foundation (Level 4 - Museum, Gallery, Library & Office)
About This Museum
People come here not just to see artifacts, but to truly understand the soul of the Iban people. You're immediately struck by the sheer artistry on display, from intricate beadwork that tells ancient stories to the powerful presence of actual heirloom jars used in ceremonies. It feels less like a sterile museum and more like walking through a lovingly curated family archive. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Sarawak's living cultures.
Collection Highlights
The stunning 'pua kumbu' textiles with their complex, symbolic patterns are a true highlight, alongside the personal belongings of Tun Jugah himself, including his signature headdress.
Visitor Information
It's tucked away on the fourth floor of a building on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, so keep an eye out for the signage. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share stories.
