Believe it or not, you can actually touch a moon rock brought back by Apollo 17 right here. Walking in, the sheer scale of the place hits you first, with full-size rockets standing guard like silent giants and the massive shuttle carrier aircraft looming overhead. It’s less a quiet museum and more a vibrant, humming hub where the history of spaceflight feels thrillingly alive. You can follow the entire arc of the journey, from the cramped Mercury capsules to the towering Saturn V that took us to the Moon.
Collection Highlights
The star of the show is undoubtedly the enormous, mind-boggling Saturn V rocket, laid out on its side so you can walk its incredible length. Don't miss the chance to step inside a full-scale replica of the Space Shuttle Independence, mounted on the original NASA 905 shuttle carrier aircraft.
Visitor Information
Grab your tickets online to skip the line, and wear comfy shoes—you'll be doing a lot of walking and looking up. It's located right next to NASA's Johnson Space Center, and some tours even take you into the actual mission control center.

The building itself is a sprawling, modern complex of hangar-like spaces and glass halls designed to accommodate massive spacecraft. Its most striking feature is how it seamlessly integrates these giant artifacts into the structure, making you feel like you're in a working space hangar.
