You're immediately struck by the warmth of the wood and the palpable sense of history held within its walls. It’s a place where ancient traditions aren't just preserved behind glass but are actively practiced by master artisans in the lobby. I spent a good hour just watching a weaver at her loom, her hands flying as she transformed simple threads into complex patterns.
Collection Highlights
The galleries are a stunning mix of timeless tradition and contemporary innovation. One room showcases exquisite handwoven coverlets in deep, natural dyes, while another features mind-bendingly detailed wood carvings of local wildlife. My favorite piece was a modern ceramic vase with a classic form but a wild, crystalline glaze that looked like a frozen galaxy.
