Royal Automobile Museum
About This Museum
Tucked away in the Al Hussein Public Parks area of Amman, this museum feels a world away from the city's bustle. It’s really a love letter to a king's passion, showcasing the machines that defined the reign of His Majesty King Hussein. You'll find everything from roaring race cars and elegant limousines to his personal motorbikes and even the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar plane he once piloted. Each vehicle has its own story, often tied to a specific moment in Jordan's modern history.
Collection Highlights
The crown jewel is arguably the massive 'Tristar' jet you can walk right up to on the tarmac. Inside, don't miss his extensive collection of classic American muscle cars and the sleek, cherry-red 1952 MG TD that was one of his first sports cars.
Visitor Information
It's easy to spend a couple of hours here, especially if you have any interest in engineering or history. The park setting makes it a nice outing for families, and there's plenty of parking.
Architecture & Building
The building itself is strikingly modern, with clean lines and a grand, curved glass facade that lets you catch glimpses of the polished chrome inside from the moment you arrive.
