I was completely captivated by the tangible sense of time, from ancient sea creatures frozen in stone to the everyday objects of civilizations long gone. It’s a quiet, intimate spot that makes the incredible history of Cappadocia feel incredibly personal.

Look for the stunning Roman-era gold jewelry and delicate glass tear bottles, then marvel at the massive ammonite fossils proving this was once an ocean floor. The ethnographic section brings it all to life with colorful traditional costumes and finely woven carpets.

Heads up for anyone planning a trip—a quick check online shows it's listed as permanently closed now, which is a real shame. It was right on Atatürk Boulevard in the town center.
