RETRO VIDEO GAME MUSEUM
About This Museum
Tucked away on a quiet street in Belgrade, the Retro Video Game Museum feels less like a formal institution and more like stepping into a portal to your childhood. It’s a passion project born from a love for pixelated graphics and 8-bit soundtracks, where every console has a story. You don't just look at the exhibits here; you're encouraged to pick up a controller and experience the joyful clunk of an Atari joystick or the distinctive purple of a Nintendo 64. The air hums with the familiar chirps and bloops of classics like Space Invaders, creating an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and wonderfully alive.
Collection Highlights
The heart of the collection is its playable arcade cabinet for Pac-Man, standing beside a pristine Sega Genesis running Sonic the Hedgehog. You can also trace the entire evolution of home consoles, from the humble Magnavox Odyssey to the chunky original PlayStation, all hooked up and ready to go.
Visitor Information
It's easy to miss the unassuming entrance at Simina 7, so keep an eye out. This isn't a huge, all-day museum; it's a perfect, concentrated dose of nostalgia that you can enjoy in an hour or two.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a typical Belgrade street-level space, it feels more like a cool, curated basement hangout than a traditional museum, with low lighting that makes the CRT screens glow.
