Regional Museum "Boikivshchyna"
About This Museum
Nestled in the heart of Dolyna, our museum is a true keeper of the Boiko spirit, a place that feels more like a community attic filled with treasures than a formal institution. We don't just display objects; we tell the stories of the Carpathian highlanders who carved a life from these mountains. You'll find everything from the tools of their daily labor to the vibrant threads of their traditional dress. It’s a quiet corner where the past feels very much alive.
Collection Highlights
The soul of our collection is the 'svitlytsia', a recreated Boiko living room complete with a massive, hand-carved wooden loom and an iconic 'chervona' rug. Don't miss the intricate pysanky—Easter eggs that are true works of folk art—or the hefty wooden 'kolek' butter churn that speaks volumes about self-sufficient mountain life.
Visitor Information
Pop in any day except Monday; we're right on Chornovola Street and easy to find. You don't need to rush—spend an hour or so soaking it all in. It's the perfect stop after a morning exploring Dolyna's town center.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a solid, unassuming building that reflects the practical and enduring nature of the region itself, it feels like it has always been part of the town's fabric.
