Petra's Stone Collection
About This Museum
People make the journey to this remote fjord not just for the scenery, but to witness one woman's lifelong passion made tangible. Petra Sveinsdóttir spent over 80 years collecting the beautiful and bizarre stones she found in the surrounding mountains, creating a personal museum that feels like a natural treasure chest. You'll wander through gardens and rooms absolutely crammed with sparkling crystals, colorful minerals, and intricate fossils, each piece with its own story. It’s an intimate and surprisingly moving experience that shows what can blossom from a single, dedicated obsession.
Collection Highlights
The main draws are her stunning Iceland spar crystals, delicate zeolites that look like miniature alien landscapes, and a massive, glittering wall of rocks that greets you at the entrance.
