Perot Museum of Nature and Science
About This Museum
Did you know the Perot Museum's building is designed to look like a floating cube, nestled right into an urban earthscape? It’s a place where you can race a T. rex, witness a tornado form before your eyes, and even design your own robot. Every floor is packed with hands-on experiments that make complex concepts feel like pure play. It’s the kind of spot where kids drag their parents from one amazing discovery to the next, and everyone leaves a little smarter.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the life-size Alamosaurus skeleton in the T. Boone Pickens Life Then and Now Hall, or the chance to test your speed against an athlete and various animals in the Sports Hall. The gem and mineral collection is a stunning hidden treasure.
Visitor Information
It's right in Victory Park, so parking can be a bit of a puzzle—your best bet is often the museum's garage. Book your tickets online ahead of time, especially for weekends; this place is wildly popular for a very good reason.
Architecture & Building
A striking modern cube by architect Thom Mayne, it's clad in textured, fossil-like concrete panels and appears to be cascading down a landscaped hill with a glass-enclosed escalator shooting up one side.
