National Museum of Geology
About This Museum
People come here to get their minds blown by the sheer age and beauty of the Earth, and it absolutely delivers. You turn a corner and are immediately face-to-snout with the towering skeleton of a dinosaur, which is both incredible and a little terrifying. The real showstoppers for me, though, were the rooms full of minerals and gems that look like they couldn't possibly be from this planet—crystals in colors you've never seen before, some glowing under black lights. It’s one of those places that makes you feel tiny in the best way, completely redefining what 'old' really means.
Collection Highlights
Massive dinosaur fossil mounts, especially the carnivores, are a huge draw. But don't miss the Transylvanian gold nuggets and the stunning geodes cracked open to reveal amethyst cathedrals inside.

It's right on Kiseleff Road, easy to find and a nice escape from the city bustle. Give yourself at least two hours; you'll need it.
Architecture & Building
