Muzey Aviatsiyi
About This Museum
People come to the Muzey Aviatsiyi not just to see planes, but to walk right up to them, touch their weathered metal, and feel the history of Soviet and Ukrainian aviation. It's a sprawling open-air field where giants of the sky rest, from hulking transport aircraft to sleek fighter jets. You can peer into cockpits and imagine the roar of engines, all under the vast Kharkiv sky. It’s a completely hands-on experience that feels more like an exploration than a museum visit.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the enormous Antonov An-22 turboprop, one of the largest in the world, or the iconic Tupolev Tu-134 airliner you can actually board. The collection of MiG fighters and a rare Mil V-12 helicopter mockup are also standout pieces scattered across the grounds.
Visitor Information
It's located just outside Kharkiv in Korotych, so it's an easy trip from the city. Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be walking on tarmac and grass between the exhibits, and it's entirely outdoors, so check the weather before you go.
Architecture & Building
There is no main building to speak of; the 'architecture' is the raw, powerful silhouette of aircraft parked on a former airfield, creating a dramatic landscape of engineering marvels against the elements.
