Museo Kordilyera
About This Museum
Tucked away on the lush, pine-shaded campus of UP Baguio, the Museo Kordilyera is a quiet revelation. I was immediately struck by how it felt less like a sterile gallery and more like walking through the living rooms of the Cordillera's diverse communities. You'll find yourself face-to-face with towering Bulul rice guardians, their weathered wood telling silent stories of harvest and tradition. The energy here is palpable, from the intricate weave of a textile to the quiet power of an ancestral bulol statue.
Collection Highlights
The collection shines a light on daily life and spiritual beliefs, with stunning displays of woven textiles you can almost feel, traditional weapons, and beautifully crafted basketry. Don't miss the section on ritual objects; it provides such a profound insight into the region's animist roots.
Visitor Information
It's incredibly easy to find right on Gov. Pack Road, and the entrance fee is just a small donation. Do check their social media for open hours before you go, as they can sometimes change.
Architecture & Building
The building itself is a modern, almost minimalist structure that somehow perfectly complements the traditional artifacts inside, with clean lines and plenty of natural light filtering in.
