About This Museum

You'd never guess this place used to be a train station, but the moment you walk in, the grand scale of the old waiting room gives it away. Now, instead of catching a train, you're greeted by a towering replica of a Pharaoh's tomb and the promise of a planetarium show. It’s this wild, wonderful mix where you can ponder an ancient Egyptian artifact one minute and let the kids loose in a hands-on science gallery the next. The whole place feels like a beautiful collision of creativity and curiosity, all tucked right along the Mississippi River.

Collection Highlights

They have an actual mummy named Ibet in a recreated tomb, which is just incredible to see up close. Then you can wander through art galleries filled with everything from Renaissance pieces to modern works, and don't even get me started on the planetarium—their shows on the night sky are mesmerizing.

Visitor Information

It's super easy to find, right on River Road in that unmistakable old station. Parking is free, and if you're planning a trip, definitely check their website for planetarium showtimes as those are a can't-miss.

Architecture & Building

Housed in a beautifully restored historic railroad depot from the 1920s, so it's got this great classic vibe with high ceilings and huge windows mixed right in with all the modern exhibit spaces.
