Tucked away in the sleepy, sun-drenched village of Quenza in Corsica's Alta Rocca region, the JAC de Quenza is a genuine surprise. You don't expect to find such a compelling contemporary art space here, surrounded by ancient chestnut forests and rugged mountain peaks. The light inside is incredible, pouring into white-walled galleries that feel both intimate and expansive. It’s a place where modern creativity quietly dialogues with its wild, traditional surroundings.
Collection Highlights
The rotating exhibitions are the main event, often featuring bold sculptures and large-format paintings by artists with a connection to the Mediterranean. On my visit, I was captivated by a series of abstract landscapes that used raw earth pigments, mirroring the colors of the surrounding maquis shrubland perfectly.

It's small, so an hour is plenty. Check their social media before you go as opening hours can be seasonal. The village itself is tiny, so pair your visit with a hike in the nearby Aiguilles de Bavella for the perfect Corsican day.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a beautifully restored traditional stone building that once served as the village's school, it retains its rustic character with thick walls and terracotta tiles, but with a clean, minimalist interior.
